I had the pleasure of meeting Doug in 2025, when he generously donated several of his Grow Socks to our community garden in Stittsville for us to try. I also placed them in the Stittsville Food Bank Garden. These Grow Socks have proven to be an outstanding and highly versatile growing solution. Filled with premium bio char matter, they provide an ideal medium for growing food safely and effectively. Their compact, space-efficient design makes them perfect for smaller areas such as patios, balconies, or for modestly expanding an existing garden to fit an extra plant or two. Last season, we successfully grew a wide variety of vegetables in the Grow Socks, including a full, productive tomato plant as well as beets, cabbage, carrots, lettuce, cauliflower, and broccoli.
